       Founded in 1846 by German immigrants,  Fredericksburg, Texas retains much of it's German history and heritage.  Fredericksburg's Germanic roots are evident in it's architecture,  biergartens, bakeries, and even through the resident dialect! This town never disappoints its visitors due to the variety of activities throughout the town. From dance halls to vineyards, high-end spas to historic museums, this quaint town always keep their guests entertained. Here you will find local artisans selling their goods in galleries, excellent antique shopping and a variety of other colorful shops to visit.  Fredericksburg is ideal for those who wish for a small town feel, yet want a close proximity to larger cities, being located approximately one hour north of San Antonio and similarly an hour east of Austin.
